Zildjian - 22" Kerope Medium Low Ride Cymbal #KER0222

Forged by the same hands that introduced it decades ago, the coveted Kerope is making a triumphant return – empowering drummers worldwide to experience what is and always has been, a Zildjian sound. The reimagined Kerope harkens back to its namesake intermediate stamp Turkish K’s, its tones steeped in a sound born over a half century ago. Kerope cymbals breathe into music a texture and complexity that no other cymbal can, carrying a richness and warmth that will strike a chord within even the most discerning of sonic connoisseurs, who for decades have sought after the old “K” sound.

The degree of meticulous manufacturing and detailed craftsmanship dedicated to this series is unsurpassed.  The entire bow is hammered into shape, undergoing over four times the hammering of a K Constantinople, reminiscent of old-world techniques used to make these K’s through the mid 20th century.  A lathing pattern including a traditional deep pin lathe that boldens stick sound and favors brush work, a unique waxing process and twice as many testing processes for sound are all critical to achieving the iconic qualities of Kerope that ring true to its storied past.

Kerope ride cymbals put an unrivaled touch in drummers’ hands that instantly inspires play, with a beautiful warm, complex crash that delights performer and audience alike.  The stick attack speaks with clarity without being overwhelmed by the wash, coalescing in a perfect blend with the band.  All Keropes feature the signature in the bell, as was tradition in the original cymbal, of the one and only Craigie Zildjian – the only cymbal in our catalog that bears her name.
