An asymmetrical SlimTaper™ mahogany neck provides a comfortable grip at every position, and the 24-fret ebony fingerboard has a compound radius that keeps chording smooth near the nut and facilitates effortless bends further up. Mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays lend an upscale touch, and Grover® Mini Rotomatics® tuners maintain precise tuning through everything from subtle riffs to full-on shredding. The Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece anchor the strings, ensuring accurate intonation and plenty of sustain. At the heart of the SG Modern’s versatile sound are Burstbucker™ Pro neck and Burstbucker Pro + lead pickups with Alnico 5 magnets.
