The Nantel Verdict
The Nantel Verdict
Mahogany body with modern ergonomic contours; refined pickup configuration balances vintage warmth with contemporary clarity; updated hardware and electronics reduce maintenance friction while preserving SG character; Fireburst finish applies premium aesthetic without tonal compromise.
Standard ¾-inch strap compatibility; benefits from proper setup and intonation check upon arrival; pairs well with mid-gain to high-gain amplification; case not included at this price point—factor separate investment for protection.
A substantive SG for players who've outgrown entry-level models and demand reliable performance without compromise. The Supreme's refresh justifies its position as a legitimate workhorse, balancing traditional character with modern playability expectations.

A fresh approach to Supreme performance
The SG™ Supreme’s return has been a big hit with players. With its refreshed feature set, it was one of the most exciting new releases of the past year. Due to player demand, we’re now introducing a new two-pickup version with an opaque Ebony finish. The Gibson SG has long been one of our most popular models. It has been embraced by musicians worldwide and used for a broad range of musical genres. With the SG Supreme, Gibson has created a top-tier instrument that pairs high-performance features with dazzling aesthetics.
This SG Supreme features a plain maple top on a mahogany body. The SG Supreme has no pickguard, which gives it a sleek and modern appearance. The mahogany neck has a fast-playing SlimTaper™ profile and is equipped with an ebony fretboard with a 10”-16” compound radius for both easy bends and first-position chording, 24 medium jumbo frets for extended range, and Super Split Block mother-of-pearl inlays. The headstock is adorned with a striking new mother-of-pearl “Chandelier Inlay” inspired by a design from the 1940s that was discovered in the Gibson archives. Locking Grover® tuners with Keystone buttons work in tandem with the Graph Tech® nut to keep the tuning rock solid, while the aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece provide precise intonation and exceptional sustain.
The SG Supreme’s Burstbucker™ Pro and Burstbucker Pro + pickups are paired with push/pull volume controls for coil tapping, along with individual tone controls. The SG Supreme’s classic Ebony finish is elegantly highlighted with gold hardware, making this not only a great-sounding and highly flexible instrument but also an exceptionally beautiful-looking modern rock machine. For those seeking a no-compromise instrument that excels in look, feel, and sound, the SG Supreme stands at the pinnacle of modern Gibson craftsmanship. A hardshell case is also included to help ensure safe storage and transport.
